“Project-driven organizations can’t fix their culture without meaningful change in how their project teams operate. That starts with a commitment to collaboration, to learning, to autonomy, to trust” (Smith, 2019).   The need for transformational leadership to help guide these changes cannot be understated.  Manurung concludes that “the transformational leadership  model is the best alternative for developing followership and dealing with change management in today’s dynamic business environment” (Manurung, 2012).  Project leaders must raise their teams to higher levels of cultural acceptance and achievement, rather than engaging in destructive behavior that will negatively influence change in the organization.
