From Voices on Project Management: by Wanda Curlee Saying COVID has changed the way we do business is an understatement. One thing I’ve learned over the years as a manager is that I have been successful because I have surrounded myself with good people, and I have allowed them to realize potential breakthroughs. Fostering a culture where no idea is too crazy is paramount, because, personally, I tend to think all of my ideas are off-the-wall. I’ve also found it important to cultivate a good balance between individual creativity and group collaboration. Slapping a project down in front of the group and forcing them to hash it out rarely produces good results. Give individuals some breathing room: let them contemplate and generate ideas alone or in pairs and bring those back to the drawing table.
